Latest Nintendo 3DS Model Comes Closer to Release

According to tech news site GottaBe Mobile, Nintendo recently filed documents with the FCC which indicate that the new 3DS model is expect to be released soon. Many consumer electronics in the U.S. have to file documents with the FCC in order to receive approval to be sold here.

The documents recently filed by FCC from Nintendo reiterate the fact that these new devices will include NFC, short for Near Field Communications. Nintendo announced earlier this year that it will use NFC to allow the device to communicate between Amiibo figurines; when a figurine is scanned by a Nintendo 3DS, it will appear on the device.

NFC isn’t the only addition to the new models. The base model 3DS now features a larger screen, which will increase the size to 3.88-inches up from 3.5 inches while the 3DS XL screen remains the same size at 4.88 inches. The models have improved 3D viewing compared to the previous models. In addition, the new models will also feature faster processors and new controls so it will feel like an entirely new experience.  The new device also has a new retro color button scheme that can be seen even when it’s in a Nintendo 3DS Case.

Smaller tweaks include a switch from standard SD cards to micro SD cards and a user replaceable battery. Although the console will be backwards compatible with all DS and 3DS games, it will have games that only can be played on the devices meaning older devices will not be able to play them.

But this release isn’t for some time and you may be getting tired of your current device. Consider getting the CHAT-PAK, the Best 3DS Case on the market. More than just providing protection for your case, it also turns your Nintendo portable gaming console into a two-way walkie talkie radio which means you can chat with nearby friends. And at $39.99, it’s a great value.
