Spectator Mode for Super Smash Bros. Adds a Whole New Level of Fun

Yesterday, Nintendo director Masahiro Sakurai revealed over Miiverse that the highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. will be featuring a Spectator Mode. This is incredibly exciting, as it means you will be able to watch players all around the world fight and make bets with in-game gold. You will be able to make informed wagers by checking out the player names, rules, win rates, odds, fighters, and stage- and why not do so with a little help from your friends?

The Spectator Mode will add a whole new level of fun for players, and more so for owners of CHAT-PAK! Imagine watching a thrilling fight and being able to chat with a friend and comment on the match the whole time. “Being able to cheer someone on is what really makes spectating matches fun." Sakurai said. "This time, 1st and 2nd place will get prizes in four-player matches, and spectators can bet the gold they win on Bonus Chances.”

It doesn’t matter what game you and your children are playing on the Nintendo 3DS, the CHAT-PAK offers something no other 3DS accessory can offer- a truly inclusive social component. The possibilities are endless with the Chat-Pak; it is compatible with the over 150 million FRS/GMRS walkie-talkies in homes across America so communication is still possible even with friends who don't have their own Chat-Pak yet; parents will be able to keep in touch when in the neighborhood, on vacation, or whenever they are out of site; internet or cell phone connection is not necessary to chat with your friends- simply have them set their Chat-Paks to the same channel and code!
